We are bidding summer farewell and welcoming fall and all it dainties. From warm drinks, falling leaves, cozy sweaters, and beautiful hues. It's definitely been a tremendous summer and one that is pretty much impossible to forget.
I have sat down so many times to write about it. The many trips taken, memories made, tears shed, laughter shared, and stories created. But everytime I sit down to write, I find it hard for the words to flow.
It's hard for words to even begin to describe what a beautiful, God-given summer, I've had this year.
For some of you out there, you know exactly what I mean. Because sometime you just have to see and experience and feel the very events to know what I really mean. I struggle so much between wanting to share what I'm living and feeling like written words will not do any justice.
I know that there are plenty of stories waiting to be written down, like the story of an adventurer on a island that falls in love with Tim Horton, the stories of how one week can change a life, the stories of days just spent soaking in creation, and so much more...for now though, a summary will have to be good enough.
Since June I have taken about 10 trips. There were multiple weeks in a row of touching base at home for a day and emptying my suitcase, only to launder my clothes and put them right back in my suitcase, and then head out the door to adventure again.
Has it been crazy? Yes. Have I enjoyed it? Immensely. Did I miss home? No, not the house, but the people I love...and on a few trips I got a little homesick for the grass and trees. However, I wouldn't trade this fast-paced, crazy summer full of learning and life-changing events for anything.
So with a bit of sad heart, I bid you farewell summer. Looking forward to many more adventures next year!
