{this is the best story i could ever tell you about my life}
i am no one special. just an ordinary person. i come from a line of ordinary americans. and we lead a pretty ordinary life.
what makes me different is my extraordinary God.
it's the fall of two-thousand and three and i'm traveling home from vacation with my loving family. like every good traveler we are listening to a cd. it goes by the name -patch the pirate goes to space-
i listen as a young child and become captivated and caught up in the story. peewee starts talking to patch. and then it happens. he prays, as a young child, to the Saviour of the entire universe who died for the whole world and asks Him to save his soul.
it's in that moment that i come to realizations. i'm condemned. i'm headed to hell. i have no hope. i need help. fortunate enough for all of us, there is Someone to help us. and He wants to. His arms are wide open and He's ready to receive.
we arrive home and i jump out of the vehicle. rush in the door. go up the stairs. and finally in to my bedroom.
and in those moments the best thing in my life happens.
i recognize the issue- sin. i recognize the answer- God. i confess. i believe. i ask. i'm saved. i'm given hope.
life just drastically changed. i have a new life. i have a new destination. i have a new hope. i have a new song. i have a new goal.
on that day i also get a new title. servant. my life is not about me anymore. it's about Him and His glory. it's about giving up whatever it takes and following Him no matter where He leads.
so thankful for that sweet fall day in two-thousand and three. more importantly though, i'm thankful for that Saviour Who bled and died on Calvary, Who stood there, arms wide open, ready to receive me as His child, just as soon as i confess and believe.
[and this is life eternal, that they might know THEE, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent] john 17:3
