{deep in the heart of texas}

On April 1st we flew down to Texas. We packed up and went {camping in New Mexico} for three days, the day after we arrived in Texas.  We then spent a week in Texas, visiting with my sister and her mechanic man. I managed to take all scenery pictures with the camera. The only pictures with people in them are on my phone :)

There were so many beautiful sunsets and sunrises while we down there...I enjoyed capturing them. The simples pleasures of watching God orchestra the rising and going down of the sun just fills me with so much delight!!

"from the rising of the sun...

...unto the going down of the same...

...the LORD'S name be praised."
[psalm 113:3]

this was probably my favorite sunset while we were down there.

{ Home }

We made it home Saturday night...

Well I guess you can call it home.

{Home is where the heart is}

and when you spend three weeks serving with your heart in the Southwest,

yet your house and parents are in the east...

I'm not sure where you call home.

Our traveling went well...

No delays or missed flights.

We serve such an awesome God.

(Keep watching for posts. They really are coming soon. There's lots to share! )

{traveling}

I just got back from a week of camp yesterday. It was a good week of activity,fellowship,and preaching.

The beginning of camp,was the beginning of many summer adventures...

I leave for North Carolina in 6 days,where I'll be for 5 days.

Upon returning I will be home for 6 days before I help at VBS,pack,and house sit for half a week.

I leave for Texas in the middle of the week and when I get to Texas,I'll leave my bags packed, because the day after arriving down there I'll head to New Mexico on a missions trip.

After the mission trip in New Mexico,back to Texas I will return for two weeks,serving the Lord during missions trips to Mexico.

August 9th will be the day I head home. At this point it will be the end of summer travels for me,unless things change.

I'm hoping that each trip draws me closer to my Saviour and changes me more and more into the image of Jesus Christ.

I'm thankful for the opportunity I have to go places and serve.

I don't deserve any of it,but folks...

I serve a good God,who does good things.

From this point on til the end of summer I'll be keeping my suitcase nearby!!

{Vacation Journal}

Friday,April 25th,2014...
We left the house around 5o'clock today. Nothing too exciting.
We drove to Tennessee and then stopped at an inn for the night. More traveling tomorrow.
Saturday,April 26th,2014...

We traveled all day today. Lots of miles to go. We stopped at a rest stop and slept in the truck for a few hours.
Sunday,April 27th,2014...

We traveled more this morning and finally made it to our destination at around 4 pm. Enough time for us to get cleaned up and ready for church.
Monday,April 28th,2014...

Goodwill and grocery shopping today.

In the afternoon we started remodeling in the living room- moving the furniture,taking the trim down,etc. Liv,Josiah,and I played instruments for about 2 hours while the others listened,this evening.
Tuesday,April 29th,2014...
Nothing much going on today. Just staying home. We helped dad move some stuff around so he could hang the drywall.
Wednesday,April 30th,2014...

We went to a thrift store in the morning. We had prayer meeting in the evening. Just enjoying the Texas sunshine!!
Thursday,May 1st,2014...

We went to Goodwill in the morning,then we came home and helped dad take the furniture out of the living room so he could paint. Today is Josiah's birthday. He wanted to take a walk in the desert so after supper we all went out and walked. We made him a cake and sang to him.
Friday,May 2nd,2014...
Not much went on today. This evening we made pizza for supper. After we ate the guys headed to the race track and us girls went to Walmart and then we came home and watched a Hallmark Hall of Fame movie.
Saturday,May 3rd,2014...

Today we left the house in the morning and headed on a trip to Carlsbad Caverns National Park. It was a first time for all of us. It was so neat to see the Lord's creation from under ground.

It was about a one and a half mile hike to the bottom and then some extra walking in the bottom that we did. Then we rode the elevator up.
We ate a picnic lunch on the mountain and then headed to the town. We drove around in the town for a little and then we headed back home. On the way home we stopped at a creek that dad saw from the road on the way up. We had to go over some barbed wire fence,but it was worth it.

We played around in the water for a little bit,and I believe some enjoyed the water more then others...

We got home around 8o'clock.
Sunday,May 4th,2014...

We had church in the morning,then we came home and had Sunday dinner. After some rest we went back to church for the services,bringing some visitors along with us-The Jarvis's. After a good church service we went out for some good food and fellowship,at Chipotle, with the Jarvis's.
Monday,May 5th,2014...
Today we went to Goodwill-it was the last one to go to in town. Nothing too busy going on-some of them went to the store,some of them were in the bus barn working,and I studied for Jr, Church this Sunday. Dad and mom went on a walk -which gave us younger folks time to be loud,laugh,and possibly be obnoxious (ahem Trevor)! We played spoons for a little bit and then watched some movies.
Tuesday,May 6th,2014...
Today we made a trip to the vet. If you know us,you know that we are not ones to go to the vet-ever,but when your dog has a huge piece of flesh missing from his back and he's not getting better,something has to be done. Another dog on the property got a-hold of him and took a chunk out of his back a few days ago. Something unusual happened today-It rained out here on the desert.

This evening dad and mom went to Walmart so us kids were goofing around. First we played spoons and then we decided to have Trevor pull us around on the trailer attached to the four-wheeler. That was fun (and sandy). We played instruments outside for awhile and then we came in and played spoons and dutch blitz.

Wednesday,May 7th,2014...
Today the Jarvis's took us out to lunch at a diner called “Bonny's Super Wrap” Walking in was like taking a step back in time.

Their specialty was a 'super wrap'...it was a giant burrito.

It was over a foot long. Trevor is the only one who ate the whole thing in one sitting. It was a great time of food and fellowship with the Jarvis's. I must admit,the fellowship was more enjoyable then the food- I just can't get enough of the Jarvis's. We went back to the house and just kinda relaxed,then we went to church. After church we met the Jimenez's at Wendy's and spent some more time eating and fellow-shipping. They're another family that I just can't get enough of.
Thursday,May 8th,2014...
Today we packed our bags,said our goodbyes,and set out on our long trek home. We drove late into the night and stopped at a rest stop to get a couple of hours of sleep.
Friday,May 9th,2014...
Another day of long travel. We stopped around 7 o'clock to eat at Cracker Barrel in Tennessee. We were only there for about an hour and then back on the road again.
Saturday,May 10th,2014...
I drove the last leg of the trip early this morning. I pulled the truck in the driveway around 4am. After about 2100 miles in the truck,I think everyone anxiously awaited being able to sleep in a bed instead of the truck. It's been 2 long days since we've slept in a bed.
Later...
Looking back on this vacation brings back many new memories. This journal doesn't even make a dent in all the memories we share-like sitting around talking before bed each night,the family time around the table,etc.  Looking forward to doing it again...only next time I think we'd all agree that flying would be the way to go.
