September went by the fastest out of
all the months this year. I'd say it was because I was in the midst
of a traveling season. Five trips all back to back in the span of
about 2 months. I think my body is confused when it comes to knowing
what time zone I'm in and I can assure that I am tired of unpacking
and repacking right away, however I feel so blessed to be able to see
so much and go so many places in just a short matter of time. This is
something most people just dream about doing, so I am very grateful
to be living this life! **I had this written up and ready to go at
the beginning of October, but we've been on a missions trip working
in New Mexico all month and I haven't had access to the internet.
Sorry for the lateness.
ACCOMPLISHED>> We sisters held
our long awaited harvest party! The secret can be told now that it's
done and over- it was actually a surprise “happy home, school
graduation” for our mom who home schooled each of us kids for the
past twenty-two year. We threw the party in appreciation for her
dedication and hard work with very grateful hearts. It was such a
beautiful evening and it was a joy to throw that little surprise
party in honor of our dear ma. **the picture above is from the party.
TRIED>> I tried my hand at a
little photography competition. I entered two pictures at three of
our local fairs. I got a best in show and 3rd place at the
first, 4th place at the second, and 2nd place
at the third. That was a fun, new experience.
LEARNED>> There is so much beauty
and uniqueness in each of the 50 states. Every one I've been to holds
a new and beautiful thing and I just love seeing all the different
things in each one! What a wonderful Creator we have!
READ>> There hasn't been much
book reading going on here. Too many trips. I did manage to read the
summer edition of the Magnolia Journal though. That has to count for
something ;)
LOVED>> Having all my family
together. My sister and her husband that live in Texas and their two
kids were home and my brother came home from college, then of course
my sister and her husband who live here came over to the house and we
were all together again. For the first time in a year. What a good
feeling. I love my people! I also loved being back in the mountains!
Not just any mountains either, the Colorado mountains. They will
forever and ever hold a very dear and special place in my heart.
GONE>> I was in Wyoming for the
first part of the month and in Colorado for the last part. Wyoming
was full of coffee and laughter and long car rides and good talks.
Colorado was a spur the moment trip. I attended a women's christian
conference hosted by a church. That was a wonderful time as well.
PLANNED>> A trip to the
Shenandoah Valley. My friend and I were supposed to go to the beach,
but when Colorado came up we had to switch dates to a later time. By
the time I got back from the mountains in Colorado I had mountain
fever so we switched our destination to the mountains in the east.
CREATED>> Well I'm not sure if
this is creating or not, but while I was in Wyoming I was my friends
“personal decorator” as she so lovingly called me. We redid her
whole bedroom and we were both impressed with the way it turned out!
PHOTOGRAPHED>> 4 photo shoots. My
friends senior pictures, a family of four in my church, my sister and
her family, and my adorable little niece! All the sessions are coming
to the blog just as soon as I can get them up!
STARTED>> Trying to get back into
letter writing. I was doing so well at writing several different
people. Some were “pen pals” and others were just thinking of you
cards. As time went on and I got busier though, I really slacked in
my writing, so I've been trying to get this going again.
LOOKING AHEAD>> OCTOBER
+ put up the 4 photoshoots in September
on my blog
+ work on a new photography site
