It all happened 15 months ago. My mom, eldest sister, and I went on a road trip to Prince Edward Island, Canada...
One day while on our adventures we
came across a little coffee shop called Tim Hortons. We thought we'd give it a
try... and boy, am I glad we did. The iced coffee was phenomenal! We took our
Timmy's and adventuring we went. We explored the beaches, the roads, the
lighthouses all with our delicious coffee in hand. By this point we were all
hooked and we took every opportunity to get some Tim Hortons on the rest of our
trip, trying out some other drinks from them. Our trip ended all too soon and
so did our time with Timmy. You see these coffee shops aren't in everywhere,
only certain places.
Today I sit here writing with Timmy's in hand. I'm on my way
to my hometown in Colorado for the first time in almost 9 years and picked up
some Tim Hortons on the way. Only this time it's more special to me for reasons
other than the tastiness. Now as I sip, I recall sweet memories with my mom and
sister on the Island. Times we had to laugh, adventure, and rant about Tim
Hortons. And I'm sure the next trip I take and stop at Tim Hortons on, I'll not
only remember the Prince Edward Island trip, but also the Colorado trip I took.
It's good to have traditions- to have things in our life that trigger memories
and take us back to sweet times of the past. I'm thankful for memories, after
all no one can take those away from you. What's something that triggers you to
remember back?
