We had a very large group on this trip, which means early mornings and more work, but more hands to help spread the Word across the Navajo Nation. Working with the Chitty family is always such a blessing. This family has given up everything to follow God's call and reach the Navajo Indians for Christ. Their work, example, and stories are extremely inspiring and compelling.
The week seemed to go by so fast. On the Navajo trips we work on going door to door around the Navajo Nation primarily sharing the Gospel with people and witnessing to them, we also invite them to a big meeting that we have on the ranch at the end of the week.
We were able to see several souls come to the Lord just at our door to door visits. It is always such an exciting time when we all gather for dinner and get to hear of the souls that were saved that day!
Thursday is the big day on the trip. Thursday morning we go door knocking in a trailer park of over 450 trailers inviting people, especially kids, to the meeting we are having in the park that afternoon. This is the English version of what we do on the Mexico trips, so it's really neat to be able to fully know what is going on and being said during the meeting!
After we had the puppet show, chalk drawing, and message on salvation I had the wonderful privilege to be able to take all the girls and talk to them a little bit longer about salvation and what God did for them. What a blessing it is to be able to look in to the eyes of those girls and be able to share hope with them. After talking to them for a little we asked if anyone wanted to ask the Lord into their heart. Several of them responded and we split off in to groups of twos and threes. I was able to talk to a little boy named Jerry and he asked the Lord to come into his heart and save Him. I don't know that there is anything quite as sweet as hearing a child's lips utter words to God and ask Him to save them.
While we were at the meeting I was able to see a girl I had led to the Lord last year and catch up with her. What a blessing that was!
Thursday night we have provide a meal and then have a meeting in the chapel on the ranch. Loads and loads of people came in from the bus routes and we had a full meeting! After some games, puppets, chalk drawing, and preaching, Bro. Chitty gives an invitation and invites anyone who wants to know more to the front. One by one workers will ask people to go with them and then find a quiet place to talk. I was able to deal with a twelve year old girl named Niuruka. She was a very sweet girl who very clearly saw her need for the Saviour. After I had gone over some verses with her she asked the Lord into her heart.
Overall we saw around 100 Navajo Indians come to the Lord over the week we were there, that was double of what we normally see! God was definitely in the midst and working during this week! How grateful I am to be a part of such an amazing week!
