there's been so much going on lately:
creating.
last week, these lovely ladies and i got together to make these dresses. it was such a good time, just being together and doing something fun. these dresses are so easy to make and take very little time! i am not much of a seamstress, but i would definitely make another one of these!
celebrating.
last week i turned "old"--so says my one amazing friend. i quickly replied with "just trying to catch up to you!" as a graduation/birthday present my mom and i are traveling to prince edward island for a few days. i was totally not expecting that (and definitely don't deserve it), but i am looking forward to a new adventure!
last week we also joined my cousin in celebrating his graduation. this boy is just like a brother to my family and i. having lived beside each other for over 7 years, there was rarely a day he wasn't at our house-- and it was rare if he wasn't there for every meal. this fall he's off to serve our country.
last weekend a very good friend of mine got engaged (which i definitely saw coming). i am super happy for her and her man, and look forward to seeing how the Lord will use them.
adventuring.
a group of the teens from church took a trip to hershey park two weeks ago and for many of us, it was a day of firsts. first roller coaster. first time upside down. first time at hershey. and maybe a day of lasts- like last time trusting our youth leader when he convinces you that it won't be that bad ;) always an adventure with this group!
a trip to gettysburg with these crazies. more || here ||
a few miles hiking with the family on memorial day evening. hiking is a favorite of mine. especially when it involves "no service" on cell-phones, quiet woods, talks with my brother, and singing birds.
preparing.
as mentioned above my mom and i will be making a trip to prince edward island here soon, so we are in the process of making plans for that.
photography school will begin in the early fall. websites will be starting **hopefully** soon. and new sessions booked.
enjoying.
open windows.
flowers blooming.
researching photography.
emails about God's Word from great friends.
the busyness of summer.
learning.
as i have been studying God's Word lately i've been drawn to the idea of CHRIST'S love and the command of love. [i john 4:10] herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. CHRIST saw man: filthy, disgusting, sinful, dirty, rotten. made of dust. and HE loved. never was there a moment that HE didn't love, never will there be a moment HE won't love. it's kind of hard to grasp that love, but that love doesn't stop there. [i john 4:11] beloved, if GOD so loved us, we ought also to love one another. we are to be loving others because CHRIST first loved us.
*as a side note, i recently started journaling as i read the Word of God and have enjoyed it so much!
sharing.
"life is not measured by the breath you take,
but by the moments that take your breath away."
So glad for you to get to go to Prince Edward Island!!! Lauren is working on a little gift for you. She feels bad that she missed getting it to you in time for your graduation and birthday. She thinks a lot of you and (Anna)!
