current events >> AUGUST
I realize that we are now two weeks into the new month and I'm just now posting, but September is quickly rushing by. Normally I do most of my traveling in the summer and then stay at home for most of the fall, but this year is a little opposite. I stayed home most of the summer and now the fall seems like it's back to back trips!
ACCOMPLISHED>> Getting two violin students out of their first book this month! That's a big accomplishment to this violin teachers heart!!
TRIED>> This month I shut off most all of my notifications on my phone and started watching my data usage per day. It's been a good thing and I'd encourage anyone to try it!!
LEARNED>> That as much as I travel, I should be a professional packer... but I'm not.
READ>> Two books. A photography book and also Real Christianity by Cary Schmidt. I've always been a fan of his books and this one sure didn't disappoint. I'm hoping as we get closer to the winter months, I'll get more of my to-read shelf cleared off on my bookcase. That is, if I can manage to stop buying books...
LOVED>> The cooler weather coming. I am sad to see summer go, but I love the cool mornings and evenings in the fall. Every season has it's own unique beauty.
GONE>> Maine. I had been to Maine 2 years ago when my mom, sister, and I went to PEI. We only stopped to stay the night and drove through it, but we didn't get to explore it. This year for a little vacation before Josiah went off to school we took a trip up there. We camped and explored several parts of Maine and did some of the “must do” Maine things- L.L. Bean Store, Acadia National Park, Canoeing, AND we spotted a moose. It was fun and most definitely memorable! At the end of the month I headed out to Wyoming, but I'll save that for the next currently since most of my time there was in September...
PLANNED>> A Surprise Harvest Party for my mom. She finished homeschooling after 22 years, so we girls planned a little party in her honor. We had been dreaming about a harvest party for years, so planning wasn't too difficult.
CREATED>> Invitations for said Surprise Harvest Party.
PHOTOGRAPHED>> Only one photo shoot this month and it was my yearly shoot with these clients. They're still one of my favorite families to photograph! Pictures are coming to the blog real soon!
STARTED>> Back to back traveling. I just got officially home yesterday and I head back out Monday for 8 days. Then it's back again for a few days and off again! I love it though. All this traveling and opportunity the Lord gives me, gives me such a full heart.
LOOKING AHEAD>> SEPTEMBER
+ 4 photoshoots
+ one more violin student out of book one
+ meet with my assistant pastors wife about some new ministry opportunities
+ get some blog posts up on here
