"My cup with blessing overflows..."
~A line taken from the song
'My Shepherd Will Supply'

Divinely Called

Said J.C. Penney "You and I may not have been called to serve Christ and humanity in a foreign land, but let there be no doubt about are having been called. Each one of us-the missionary, the preacher, and the laymen-has the same priceless gift to lay upon the altar of service:a life. That is the primary of importance.Where the life shall be used is of secondary importance.Where there is a willingness to pay the price,God will surely find a place for you.

I am thankful for the little blessings God puts in our life.Like last night for instance. We have had a single missionary lady coming to our church for a couple months now.She is on the Medical Missions Outreach from Camp BIMI...they go on short term missions trips all over the world. She has really made an impact in my life, just over the short time that I have known her...through her testimony and just times of talking. We have made some great memories with each other....visitation,picking on each other, etc.Well the time has come for Becky to move on.She is supposed to be moving closer to where her mission board is stationed.Last night was going to be her last night with us at our church...I wanted to make sure I said goodbye to her before she left.Well I got pre-occupied with a little girl from church...we were outside playing around. The time came to leave and so I got in the car and down the road we went. Then it hit me.I didn't even say goodbye to Becky."It's too late now."Mom said.It was very disappointing.Dad decided to stop at Wal-Mart on the way home to get some stuff.Well as we were in Wal-Mart guess who we saw walk by?You guessed it.Becky.So I went up to her and said goodbye and gave her a hug.I am thankful for the short notice trip we took to Wal-Mart.It was a real blessing to me.

Gift idea

I saw this idea on Pinterest awhile ago and like most "pinners" I just pinned it to a board and kinda forgot about it!One of my friends went to serve at a camp from the beginning of June until the end of June and I wanted to mail her a little "gift" to brighten her day,so I went on to my Pinterest board called "gift giving ideas" and looked around. When I came across this I thought it would be such a neat idea,so I made one!It was so easy and it was cheap too!
I just bought a pill box from the Dollar Store ...
...Wrote down some quotes and verses...
...added the candy and little notes, and I was done!
I will definitely be using this idea again!:)

Healthy Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge

This stuff is really yummy.I wouldn't necessarily call it fudge.I would call these the 'healthy" alternative to Reese's peanut butter cups.Anyways...a friend from church pinned these and then she brought them to a teen activity. They were really yummy so I decided to make them.It is really simple to make!

  • 1/2 cup coconut oil (slightly melted, but not hot)
  • 1/2 cup  cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup natural peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup  honey
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Preparation:
Prepare a muffin pan with 10 muffin liners.
Put all ingredients in the bowl of your food processor.  Pulse a few times until everything is smooth and nicely combined.  (It will be very liquid-y.)  Don’t over-mix.
Pour the liquid fudge into the prepared muffin liners dividing evenly between the ten of them.  There will be about a half inch of fudge in each muffin liner.
Place the muffin pan in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or until the fudge has hardened. (Sometimes I use the freezer and it only takes about 10 minutes)
Remove the muffin liners from the pan and enjoy your delicious, healthy fudge!  Store in the refrigerator.
* You do not have to use a food processor.  Using a whisk and a bowl works as well.  Just make sure that you whisk until all the lumps are dissolved, and the fudge is very smooth.

Excerpt from Discover Your Destiny by Cary Schmidt
Surely, you can miss God's will for your life, but the question is how?Psalm 32:8,God taught me that missing His will was more related to me denying His leading than it was to me missing His clues.
I had this mental picture that God had created a perfect will, hidden it among all the other options of life, amd then sent me into young adulthood to find it for myself. My idea was that it was a scavenger hunt for my destiny, and I was truly hoping to find it.I was afraid of missing it.
The promise in Psalm 32:8 taught me that there is NO WAY for a surrendered person to miss God's will, apart from God breaking His promise.(That's impossible!) He has promised to lead you and guide you,so long as you are lead-able.He says in verse nine,"Be not as the horse,or as the mule, which have no understanding..." In other words,if you choose to resist,if you choose not to be lead, like a stubborn mule or horse, you will miss it.So,God says,"don't be that way!"
If you're spending a great deal of time worrying about God's will-stop.Focus more on drawing close to Him,walking with Him,and knowing Him.Concentrate on having a surrendered heart.Consume yourself with being lead-able,and God will take care of everything else.-Pg. 177

Book Excerpt

Ready or Not
Chapter 8-The Lion and the Bear
How can you Learn?
Take opportunities
Many opportunities will fall into your lap. That was true with David. He was told to watch sheep. In doing so,he saw the need sheep  have for a shepherd and the comparison to write one of the most comforting Psalms-Psalm 23.During that time on the mountainside,he played the harp to entertain himself. All the practice made him so accomplished that he was summoned to play for the king.In his dedication to protect the sheep from lions and bears,he became a man of valor, later claiming victory in many battles. But all would have been much different if he had murmured about his job."Why do I have to watch the stupid sheep? That lion can have the lamb-one less for me to deal with. This is so boring;I never get to do anything I want to do."He would have not been prepared to write the Psalms, play music in the palace, face the giants, lead armies into battle,or be king himself had he not done his best in the job handed to him.It set the course for the rest of his life.Do not buck against the circumstances for leaning that God has given you now.Do you have chores to do on the farm?Do your best.Who knows how God may use the skills you gain. Are you told to watch your little brother?Clean the bathroom?Write a paper?Help in the family business?Whether you are in public school,Christian school, homeschool,or college-opportunities are there.Your classes themselves are important.Do your best in math, history, grammar, accounting,Spanish, chemistry.God does not throw the dice to determine your circumstances. He is bringing those things to you to make you ready.Do not spoil the plan.

{Senior Trip}

taking a rest after a long day!:)

The Tower at Governor Dicks

Last Saturday our 10th-12th graders went on a Senior Trip to Mt. Gretna. We hiked 7 miles, very slowly-making sure to make lots of memories (those of you who went will know what I mean by this!),it was quite an interesting hike and hopefully we didn't seriously injury anyone that we met along the trail!:)After we got done hiking we ate lunch and then we went to the Jigger shop. After eating at the Jigger shop we went mini-golfing and when we were done mini-golfing we went back to one of the parking lots and threw the football around and then the frisbee. To end the evening we went out to eat at Friendly's.It was a very interesting day to say the least!
