Memorial Day Adventures

Today my family and I (including my brother-in-law and sister) went hiking/swimming/fishing!It was tons of fun,and nice and relaxing!Here are some pictures:

The Star Spangled Banner

The Price Of Freedom

Redoing the Top of a Box

I got this box at a yard sale and decided to redo the top.So I got all my stuff together,turned on some good music (for me it was Anne of Green Gables!) and got to work!

The box I got for like $0.25!

I sanded off the top and then painted it with the same color as the bottom...

I printed off a picture of vines off of Bing...

Charcoaled the back of the paper...

Taped the paper in the position I wanted it...

Traced the vines...

Sanded the top...

 

 

 

 

And here's the finished product!

Adventures...

I forgot I was going to post about this until I saw the pictures again.On the 5th of this month,my mom,sisters and I went to the mall.We went to get clothing for my brother.We are not mall people...really!So we looked for stuff for him and then decided to goof off,I told you we aren't mall people!We went into Payless and we were all trying to find the ugliest pairs of shoes,then we tried on hats.Then we went into Boscov's(I think!) and we found dresses we really liked,but decided we could probably make the same thing and it wouldn't cost $100,we tried them on anyways!And to end the night we went to Wendy's and got Frosty's and Soda...oh,and we didn't buy anything at the mall!

Hats...it was even the night the Kentucky Derby was on!

I Am Not Ashamed...

Right now,I am reading the book Rachel's Tears,It is the story and journal entry's of Rachel Joy Scott,one of the girls killed in the Columbine shooting on April 20,1999.I came across this part of her journal that really stuck out to me:
"I am not going to apologize for speaking the name of Jesus,
I am not going to justify my faith to them,
and I am not going to hide the light that God has put in me.
If I have to sacrifice everything...I will."
That reminded me of the verses:
According to my earnest expectation and my hope,that in nothing I shall be ashamed,but that with all boldness,as always,so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body,whether it be by life,or by death.~Philippians 1:20
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ:for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth;to the Jew first,and also to the Greek.~Romans 1:16
Let's not be ashamed,let's proclaim it to everyone...

These are pictures of poppies we have outside of our house...as I watched them open up,I thought what is a good verse to go along with this??Here's what I came up with:
Grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour,Jesus Christ.~2Peter 3:18
Just like the poppies grew from a little seed,into a big flower;we should be growing in Christ!
